What it is
A full online world that fits in a browser
Pick a side, form a party with friends on any channel and ride the trade routes. Everything runs on WebGL2, straight from the web.

Play in the browser, keep it as an app
Open the game page and play. Install it once and it gets its own window and icon on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone and iPad. Phones get touch controls with an on-screen joystick.

Three channels
Choose a channel in the server window before you log in. Each one shows how busy it is, and you can switch channel from inside the game.

Friends on any channel
Parties, party chat and whispers work across channels. When you switch channel, your party comes with you.

Low-end device mode
Older laptops and phones get a lighter graphics profile automatically. You can turn it on or off under Options → Graphic → Low-end device mode.

Capture the Flag
Team up for the Capture the Flag event on channel 1. Matches are balanced by level bracket.

Traders, hunters and thieves
Join a job, run trade caravans between towns, guard them or raid them. Job levels have their own rankings.

Guilds and guild wars
Found a guild, level it with your members and declare guild wars against rivals.

How to install
Install Pandora in under a minute
Installing adds an icon and opens the game in its own window without the browser bars. The game page also walks you through these steps.
Open the game page
Go to game.pandoraworld.net in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
Click the install icon
It sits at the right end of the address bar. You can also open the browser menu (⋮ in Chrome, … in Edge) and choose “Install Pandora”. In Chrome it is under “Cast, save and share”, in Edge under “Apps”.
Confirm
Click Install. Pandora opens in its own window and appears in your Start menu, Launchpad or app list.
Open the game page
Go to game.pandoraworld.net in Chrome.
Tap Install
Use the install banner, or open the menu ⋮ and tap “Install app” (on some phones it says “Add to Home screen”).

Tap Install. The Pandora icon appears on your home screen.
Open the game page
Go to game.pandoraworld.net in Safari.
Tap Share
It is the square with an arrow pointing up, in the toolbar.
Add to Home Screen
Scroll down, tap “Add to Home Screen”, then tap Add. Start the game from the new icon.

Go to game.pandoraworld.net in Safari.
Add to Dock
In the menu bar choose File → Add to Dock. You can also use the Share button.
Confirm
Click Add. Pandora appears in your Dock and opens in its own window.

Will it run on my device?
Pandora needs a browser with WebGL2 and hardware graphics acceleration. The figures below are guidance based on our test targets, not guarantees.

- Low-end device mode turns on automatically on weaker hardware. You can change it under Options → Graphic → Low-end device mode.
- Software renderers such as SwiftShader or llvmpipe are not supported. If the game reports no WebGL2, turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings and update your graphics driver.
- Firefox cannot install the app. Use Chrome, Edge or Safari.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes, it is free; Pandora is an independent, educational project.
Will the open beta data be wiped?
Yes. When the open beta ends, all data (characters, items and Silk) will be wiped. During the beta Silk is free: up to 10 packages per account per day.
What do I need to play?
A recent browser with WebGL2: Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer, Chrome on Android, or Safari on iPhone and iPad. A mouse and keyboard work on desktop; phones and tablets get touch controls. See the system requirements
My device is old. Will it run?
Probably. The game switches to a lighter graphics profile on weak devices by itself. You can also turn it on under Options → Graphic → Low-end device mode. See the system requirements
Why can’t I install it in Firefox?
Firefox does not support installing web apps. Open the game in Chrome, Edge or Safari to install it. You do not need to change your default browser.
How do I create an account?
Open the game and register on the login screen. Pick a password you do not use anywhere else. Staff will never ask for your password.
Which channel should I pick?
Any. Parties, party chat and whispers work across channels, so you can play with friends on a different channel. Capture the Flag runs on channel 1.
Is this an official game?
No. Pandora is an independent, educational, non-commercial project and is not affiliated with any game publisher. See the notice at the bottom of this page.
What is Silk?
Silk is the Item Mall currency. During the open beta it can be claimed for free on the Silk page or in the Item Mall. It exists only inside the game and has no cash value.
Can game data be changed?
We avoid it. If game data has to be corrected, for example after a bug or an exploit, we announce it in the news.
What data do you keep?
What the game needs to run: your account, your characters and security logs. No payment data is processed. The website itself stores only your language choice in your browser. The privacy notice has the details.
